Ana Borges: HR Manager, Baxter RCS Brasil

  • How long have you been at RCS?

I have been at RCS and Baxter RCS for a year (1) and four (4) months in total.

  • What is your role in RCS?

Today, I am the Human Resources manager for RCS Brazil.

  • What is the most important part of your job?

The most important part is being able to actively listen to people to understand beyond just responding, with the intention of supporting them in their daily challenges, and also their personal developments. Also, translate from complex to simple to ensure that everyone understands why we do things, so that they feel part of it and commit to doing the best work of their lives.

  • What motivates you to stay at RCS?

My motivation is our purpose of Saving and sustaining Lives, in this business we live our mission head on. On a daily basis our kidney patients depend on dialysis to sustain their lives. So, the motivation is knowing that we have people dedicated and committed to offering a different experience to patients and also supporting them by showing that they can lead their lives in a normal way. These are what motivates me.

  • What would you say to you 15 years ago?

I would tell myself to have the Courage to make decisions and dedicate myself to them, to always achieve the best for your life.

  • What professional advice would you give someone starting their career?

For them, I always say that we ourselves are responsible for our career, no one else, the companies and leaders that we have throughout our career give us the support to grow and develop, but we are the ones who must be clear about our objectives, where we want to go, know what our strengths and weaknesses are, create habits that contribute to our development, quickly learn to recognize mistakes, plan our path, have dedication to overcome challenges and be happy with what we do.

  • What advice would you give your teams to approach 2021 in the best way?

Having a lot of resilience to live one day at a time, having empathy to deal with the challenging situations that we live daily, having the courage to follow our mission and achieve our goals, collaboration so that work has more energy and joy. Also, my advice is to celebrate the small conquests and of course, take care of your health and also of everything that surrounds you.

  • From the learnings of 2020, have you applied any action or do you have any objective related to it?

Yeah, I think the big learning from last year was how to better understand and deal with emotional intelligence. So, it is to recognize and understand the emotions of oneself and of others, adapting the approach to manage interpersonal relationships with empathy, friendship, simplicity. So, that for me is the great learning that I am living more and more every day, understanding and trying to improve.
